Darwin Nunez has fuelled the transfer гumouгs raging around him at Liverpool by removing Reds-related images from his personal Instagram account

The Uruguayan forward made a move to Anfield in the summer of 2022 for a hefty sum of £85 million ($107m). Despite scoring 33 goals in 94 appearances, he has also squandered several key opportunities, leading to questions about his long-term worth to the team.

Speculation has arisen about Nunez potentially leaving in the upcoming transfer window, with Barcelona, one of La Liga’s powerhouses, reportedly showing interest. They are believed to be searching for a replacement for the prolific Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, who may be considering an early departure from Catalonia amid rumors linking him to teams in MLS and the Saudi Pro League.

Nunez’s social media activity has done little to dispel the rumors of his departure from Anfield. While his Instagram profile picture still depicts him in a red Liverpool shirt, his posts solely feature images of him playing for Benfica and Uruguay.

Although Nunez is contracted with Liverpool until 2028, he has reportedly expressed a desire to play for Barcelona in the future. Whether such an opportunity arises and what lies ahead for him in England in the immediate future reмɑιns uncertain.
