The highly-anticipated trailer for Blake Lively’s new romance film, It Ends With Us, has officially been released. Blake, 36, stars as Lily Bloom, a woman who enters a passionate—and eventually abusive—relationship with Ryle Kincaid, played by Justin Baldoni, 40, before her ex, Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar, 32), reappears.
Directed by Baldoni, the film is based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. Taylor Swift’s 2020 song “My Tears Ricochet” is featured as the trailer’s soundtrack.
The trailer opens with Lily meeting Ryle at her flower shop, sparking an intense romance. As their relationship heats up, Ryle expresses his desire to see her again, and a darker side of his personality soon emerges, culminating in a tense moment where he smashes an object on the floor and later apologizes tenderly.
Atlas’s return complicates things for Lily, leading to a poignant flashback of their childhood romance. Atlas, noticing Lily with Ryle, asks if Ryle is her guy. Sᴜspicioᴜs, Ryle questions Lily’s feelings, to which she assures him of her love, but he presses further.
Lily poses a powerful question to Ryle about what he would advise their daughter if she were in an abusive relationship, underscoring the film’s central theme of breaƙing harmful patterns.
