Dua Lipa, serving as a co-host, made a striking entrance on the Met Gala red carpet adorned in a black and white Chanel tweed ballgown – a replica of the design famously worn by Claudia Schiffer in the brand’s autumn/winter 1992 couture show. Little did observers know, this choice foreshadowed a night dedicated to celebrating the legacy of Karl Lagerfeld.

Following her initial red carpet appearance, the singer underwent a wardrobe change into a black sheer lace dress from the spring/summer 1995 collection, previously showcased by Stephanie Seymour both on the runway and in a campaign. As the evening progressed to the after-parties, Dua embraced yet another Chanel ensemble. This time, she sported a ’90s-inspired combination of bike shorts and pearl-embellished heels, perfectly suited for the dance floor.

At her own Met Gala after-party held at Virgo and attended by luminaries such as Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Blackpink’s Jennie, Billie Eilish, Penélope Cruz, and Florence Pugh, the pop sensation continued her Chanel streak. 

She adorned herself in a black and white crop top paired with cycling shorts from Chanel’s spring/summer 2022 collection, complemented by sheer black polka dot tights and black leather stilettos featuring pearled heels. Dua completed her look with signature Karl Lagerfeld accessories, including layers of vintage pearl and chain necklaces, a chain logo belt, leather fingerless gloves, and stylish black shades.
