Eboni K. Williams, former star of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” has announced that she is pregnant with her first child, a daughter, due on August 16. Opting to start a family on her own through sperm donation and in vitro fertilization (IVF), Williams has embraced her journey with enthusiasm and determination.
In a candid interview with People, the 40-year-old expressed her excitement and confidence in her decision to stop waiting for “Mr. Right” and take charge of her future. “There will always be that voice that says, ‘Maybe I should have waited to meet a man and remarry before I had a baby? Maybe I should not be trying to do this alone.’ But f*** that!” she said. “I’m not waiting. I’m 40 years old. I’m not waiting to build assets. I’m not waiting to build my career. I’m not waiting to travel. And I’m certainly not waiting to start a family.”
Williams, who began her journey during the pandemic by unfreezing one of her eggs, calls her pregnancy a “remarkable miracle.” Reflecting on her past expectations about family and legacy, she shared how she freed herself from conventional timelines and rigid ideas. “I really freed myself of the rigidness of what legacy, love, and family could look like. Those are the three pillars I reassessed, and it helped shake me from this idea of, ‘I have to have it this way on this timeline everyone else is following.'”
Her pregnancy announcement has garnered congratulations from numerous celebrities, including Charlamagne tha God, Sherri Shepherd, Loni Love, Cynthia Bailey, Colton Brown-Underwood, Claudia Jordan, Garcelle Beauvais, S.E. Cupp, and Meghan McCain.
Williams’ personal life has had its share of challenges. She divorced at 28 after just 10 months of marriage and ended her engagement to Warburg Pincus COO Steven Glenn before joining “RHONY” in 2021. During her relationship with Glenn, insiders revealed that she was not particularly involved with his three sons, ages 21, 18, and 14.
Despite not having dreamt of motherhood from a young age, Williams feels ready and excited for this new chapter. Raised by a single mother herself, she currently hosts the weekly podcast “Holding Court with Eboni K. Williams” and awaits news on the renewal of her small claims court show, “Equal Justice with Judge Eboni K. Williams.”
As she prepares to welcome her daughter, Williams stands as an example of forging one’s own path and embracing the present with confidence and joy.
