Max Verstappen’s Luxurious Private Jet: A High-Flying Asset Even Lewis Hamilton Would Envy

Nicknamed ‘the flying Dutchman,’ Max Verstappen certainly takes to the skies in style. With the 2024 Formula One season upon us, the Belgian-Dutch racer will have a lot of flying to do, and he has just the right equipment for the job. Let’s take a look at Verstappen’s Dassault Falcon 900EX, a private jet that stands out not just for its functionality but also for its unique aesthetic.

Verstappen’s Dassault Falcon 900EX, registered as PH-DTF, boasts a distinctive matte black and orange livery, complete with his logo on the tail section, making it easily recognizable at any airport. Built in 2008, this jet is about 16 years old and was acquired by Verstappen in late 2020 from Virgin Atlantic founder Sir Richard Branson. Valued at around $15 million, Verstappen wasted no time in putting his Falcon 900EX to good use, traveling on it to every race in the 2021 Formula One season, where he clinched his first world championship.

In terms of luxury and amenities, Verstappen’s Falcon 900EX is exceptional. The spacious cabin can accommodate up to 12 passengers and features a private bar. Additionally, two of the seats can be reclined together to form a bed, ensuring comfort during long flights. This is particularly useful given the extensive travel required in Formula One, with races spanning across continents.

The Dassault Falcon 900EX is a long-range version of the Falcon 900 jet, capable of flying up to 4,500 nautical miles (8,336 kilometers). This makes it an ideal aircraft for the demanding travel schedule of a Formula One driver. While many motorsports drivers own private jets, Verstappen and Fernando Alonso are currently the only Formula One drivers with their own aircraft.

When it comes to eye-catching liveries, Verstappen’s Falcon 900EX is closely rivaled by the former jet of fellow Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton’s Bombardier Challenger 605, which he sold a few years ago, was known for its cherry red livery. Unlike Verstappen’s jet, which still soars the skies, Hamilton’s choice to sell his private jet was part of his commitment to more sustainable travel methods. The Challenger 605, registered as G-LCDH to represent Hamilton’s initials, was worth about $29 million and could accommodate up to 19 passengers.
