A collection of Marvel heroes assembled today to celebrate Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios and the architect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Feige was honoured with the 2,785th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his monumental contributions to the motion picture industry.

Among the stars in attendance were Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who are set to appear together in the highly anticipated “Deadpool & Wolverine” film hitting theatres tomorrow. Both actors spoke at the ceremony, sharing their admiration for Feige.

Reynolds, known for his quick wit, joked during his speech, “Kevin said, ‘You’ll stop dancing when I tell you to stop dancing.’ But I do believe we’re nearing the finish line.”

An Emotional Moment for Feige

As his star was unveiled, Feige reminisced about his childhood visits to the Walk of Fame. “Obviously this is a dream come true. My parents, I’m so thankful they’re here today. They would bring me out here and my sister, when I was a kid from New Jersey. Once or twice we came to L.A. and we’d go to Disneyland, and we’d go to Universal Studios,” he said.

“We would come here to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and I would run with my disposable film camera and take pictures of the stars. The people I knew, but we make mental notes of the way many, many names I didn’t know. To be able to say to me and to our cinematic universe, this is hallowed ground right here,” he continued.

Feige expressed his gratitude for being able to pursue his passion. “Producing is all I’ve ever really wanted to do, ever since I knew it was a thing that a person could do. And, to be able to do it alongside the most talented actors and storytellers in the business is more than I could ever have asked for.”

The ceremony was a testament to Feige’s impact on the film industry, with heartfelt tributes from some of the MCU’s biggest stars, and a special nod from Ryan Reynolds, who brought his signature humour to the occasion.
