Kylian Mbappe gifted his match jersey to Rafael Nadal after his La Liga debut.

Mbappe began his new chapter in La Liga with Real Madrid in a match against Real Mallorca on August 19 (Vietnam time). The game did not go as planned, with Real Madrid drawing 1-1 with the island team.

Mbappe had scored in his debut with Los Blancos, a 2-0 win over Atalanta to secure the UEFA Super Cup, but at Son Moix, he was unable to convert his chances and secure a win for the Royal Club.

The match in Mallorca was attended by Rafael Nadal. The Spanish tennis legend, who hails from Mallorca, is also a huge Real Madrid fan.

After the game, Mbappe was seen meeting Nadal in the tunnel and presented him with his match jersey, along with a hug.

Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, often attends matches to support his favorite team. The 38-year-old was somewhat disappointed with the performance of Carlo Ancelotti’s side, but receiving a special gift from Mbappe might help make up for the match result.

Mbappe’s next game with Real Madrid is a home fixture against Real Valladolid at the Bernabeu on August 25. The 25-year-old striker is eager to make his mark in the top Spanish league as soon as possible.

As for Nadal, he has decided to withdraw from the US Open later this month following his participation in the 2024 Olympics. He will focus on the Laver Cup in September.
