Martin Ødegaard has been named Arsenal’s “Player of the Season” for the 2023/24 campaign. The captain surpassed several teammates to claim the title, following a standout season where he was one of Arsenal’s top creators.
In the Premier League alone, Ødegaard scored 8 goals and provided 10 assists. Overall, across all competitions, the Arsenal number 8 tallied 11 goals and 11 assists.
Ødegaard’s impressive performances earned him a spot in the PFA Team of the Year, announced at the end of August.
Despite Manchester City winning the league, Arsenal dominated the Team of the Year with five representatives. In addition to Ødegaard, Arsenal had goalkeeper David Raya, Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhães, and William Saliba included.
Ødegaard joined Arsenal on loan in January 2021 and was permanently signed from Real Madrid that summer for over £30 million. In just three years, he has quickly grown into a leading role and is now the club captain.
