Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his confidence in Kylian Mbappe’s ability to thrive at Real Madrid, even predicting that the French forward could win the Ballon d’Or this year.
Mbappe, who joined Madrid on a free transfer this summer, has been seen as a potential successor to Ronaldo’s legacy at the club. Despite a challenging start to the 2024/25 season, where he failed to score in his first three La Liga matches and struggled internationally with France, Ronaldo is optimistic about Mbappe’s future.
In an interview with UR Cristiano, Ronaldo said, “I genuinely believe he’s going to do well. The club has a strong structure, a great coach, and a president with a long history at Madrid. I don’t foresee any major issues for him. His talent is undeniable and he’s proven he can succeed.”
Ronaldo also mentioned, “I think he could be a contender for the Ballon d’Or in the coming years, along with players like Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, and Lamine Yamal. This new generation has a lot of potential, but I have faith that Mbappe will excel.”
