Vinicius Jr. has become the latest football star to join Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports following the agency’s acquisition of the Brazilian TFM Agency. Alongside Vinicius, TFM’s roster includes over 100 players, such as Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli.
With this acquisition, Roc Nation Sports, which was established by Jay-Z in 2013, is expanding its presence into Brazil, a country renowned for its passion for football. Roc Nation’s impressive lineup already features prominent athletes like Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne, Saquon Barkley, and LaMelo Ball across various sports.
Juan Perez, founder and president of Roc Nation Sports, emphasized the significance of Brazil in the sports world, stating, “In terms of football, Brazil is the center of it all. I strongly identify with a culture that has such an incredible passion for sport and music. Our influence in this game is growing, and this move shows our intentions to the world.”
Vinicius Jr.’s move to Roc Nation follows a recent meeting with Jay-Z in May, which the Brazilian forward shared on his Instagram, calling Jay-Z a “LEGEND” with a handshake and goat emoji.
Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, has a long history in sports. He previously held a minority stake in the Brooklyn Nets from 2004 to 2013, playing a key role in the team’s move from New Jersey to Brooklyn. He was also rumored to be involved in Jeff Bezos’ bid to acquire the Washington Commanders, which ultimately went to Josh Harris.
Vinicius had a standout season with Real Madrid, netting 20 goals across all competitions.
