Social media users are less than thrilled with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ pre-game fashion choices, with many attributing them to a potential jinx.
On Thursday night, the Cavs took the court for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors, arriving in a coordinated selection of suits. However, these weren’t your typical outfits; many players sported cropped trousers that fell well above the ankle, while superstar LeBron James made a bold statement in a suit featuring shorts.
Photos and videos of the players showcased their stylish jackets, button-down shirts, ties, and those unusually short pants, which quickly captured online attention. Some of the trousers ended mid-shin and were paired with high socks and dress shoes, a design choice that seemed intentional rather than simply a fit issue given their height.
LeBron stood out even more, opting for shorts that ended above his knees, complemented by high socks, dress shoes, a designer bag, and an array of jewelry, all while wearing sunglasses indoors—a clear nod to his fashion-forward approach.
However, the reaction wasn’t universally positive. One Twitter user expressed their disdain, posting, “NOOOOOOOOOOO BURN THE SUITS,” in response to the Cavaliers’ video. The mix of shock and criticism illustrates that not all fashion statements land as intended!
