This event comes eight years after Magic underwent gastric sleeve surgery, which helped him shed an impressive 180 pounds. Also present at the event were Magic’s wife, Cookie Johnson, along with their children Elisa, Lisa, and Andre Johnson, making it a memorable family outing.

In 2015, EJ underwent gastric sleeve surgery, leading to significant weight loss. He shared with E! News that he maintains his weight by opting for lighter meals. “For me, I just constantly nibble throughout the day instead of sitting down for large meals,” he explained.

EJ also stays active by working out with a trainer and practicing Pilates, aiming for at least four sessions a week. He emphasized the importance of enjoying his workouts, saying, “It’s all about maintaining my weight while having a good time. Find a workout that you love. For me, it’s not even working out; it’s just having fun. We dance a lot, we sweat, and at the end of it, I feel great knowing I burned calories without even realizing it.”

He has also made dietary changes, cutting out many carbs and sugars, as he shared with Us Weekly.

EJ Johnson, born Earvin Johnson III in 1992 in Beverly Hills, is the son of basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Earlitha “Cookie” Johnson. He has an older brother, Andre, and a younger sister, Elisa.
